At Menya le Nood, the star of the menu is undoubtedly their vibrant selection of tsukemen. These dipping noodles are served with a variety of toppings that elevate the experience. Take the Super Menya Tsukemen for example, which features a heavenly combination of three pieces of kakuni, a perfectly soft ajitama egg, menma, negi, and a generous sheet of nori, all for just US$22.00. The rich flavors of the black tonkotsu broth create a savory depth that enchants your palate, as sweetly described by customer Yung P.
But there's more than just tsukemen at Menya le Nood; their donburi dishes are worth exploring as well. The Chicken Curry Donburi, adorned with succulent pieces of chicken over fragrant curry rice, is a delightful fusion of flavors for just US$13.00. Another standout is the Kakuni Donburi, rendering the slow-braised pork a melt-in-your-mouth experience, making it hard to resist adding more to your order.
The ramen selection also features highlights such as the rich chashiu ramen and the Vegan Goma Ramen, perfect for those seeking plant-based options without compromise. Anna Baatz praises the silky texture of the noodles and indicates the importance of balancing flavors — each dish here allows you to control your level of savory satisfaction. With prices starting around US$16.00 for ramen, you can savor a quality bowl without breaking the bank.
In addition to the impressive food, Menya le Nood has garnered a reputation for their attentive service, making each visit a pleasure. Despite the cozy atmosphere and limited street parking, the restaurant maintains an inviting charm that beckons locals and tourists alike.
If you're in the vicinity of Ala Moana or visiting the nearby Whole Foods Market, Menya le Nood comes highly recommended. Come and indulge in the rich flavors of ramen and tsukemen, and experience for yourself why this eatery has quickly ascended as a go-to spot for noodle enthusiasts. Your taste buds will thank you!
Menya le Nood is a cozy Japanese ramen spot located not too far from Ala Moana. Ordered the Super Menya Tsukemen ramen with Black Tonkatsu broth which is a savory roasted garlic pork broth. Broth has a deep rich taste but was a little salty. Served with thick cuts of braised pork slices which was delicious and topped with bamboo shoots, perfectly boiled egg, green onions. I recommend ordering the large for just a dollar more for more broth and noodles. Service is great and very attentive to customers needs. Parking is limited to street parking so is difficult to find parking.
The noodle came in the best consistency. We got the tonkatsu and goma soup. My favorite was the goma one. The soup came with chunks of super tender meat. The pork was super tender and delicious, so was the ajitama egg. We asked for our soups to be super spicy, but it wasn’t spicy enough for me lol. We added the combo with chicken karage and shrimp bao.
This place was highly recommended to me. I’ve tried the Large Menya Ramen with a black broth which was sooooo delicious. You can add e.g. Karage Chicken for additional 4. Personally I would not have needed that as I was sooooo full after finishing everything but it’s just so hard to stop when the food is so yummy. Awesome place
This place is tucked away. Their noodles are amazing! I’d come here for noodles. I love how you can have ramen at 13 a bowl! They have mini appetizers for add one to make your ramen a combo. I haven’t had their ramen but their dipping ramen/tsukemen is so good! I got the vegan broth! There might be a happy hour rush.. but we always just walked on without a reservation. It’s about two blocks away from Whole Foods Market... so very close to everything in Ward. There is limited parking in front of the restaurant. If you can’t find parking anywhere... option is park at Whole Foods or mall and walk over.
Really enjoyed my tsukemen! The black garlic tonkotsu broth is super flavorful, rich and salty, so it's nice to be able to control how much I get with each bite of noodles. And those noodles are superior - the perfect chewy, bouncy texture. The soft boiled egg had a perfectly gooey yolk and those pork slices are HEFTY. Also quite enjoyed the crispy shrimp bao. Definitely would recommend for any of your ramen cravings! :)
Best ramen I have ever had in my life! And the server was very friendly. I also liked how I was able to determine how spicy I wanted my ramen to be! I will definitely be back if I ever visit Hawaii again. Highly recommend this place!
Probably my best bowl of ramen in the last 4 years. I’ve been living in Toronto since 2021, moved to Massachusetts recently and have not found a ramen worth reviewing. I’ve travelled to Japan a couple of times and have had very good ramen back home in the Philippines. My husband and I were visiting Hawai’i for work and decided to stop over and try their place out. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen and hubby got the garlic tonkatsu ramen. We loved everything about it - meat was succulent and flavourful. Egg was perfect consistency and texture. Noodles were nice and chewy. Broth was hearty. I was wary about ordering a tsukumen cause of some bad reviews about the dipping sauce but I might consider giving it a try, since we really enjoyed our ramen.
Love this small restaurant. The meat is not round-shape, but thick and lean. That is exactly the style I like. The egg and soup are also delicious. There is a lot of meat, so I even got so full before finishing the whole thing. Gyoza is also juicy and yummy! Not expensive at all!
